Farid Bang is working on international feature films again on his new single "Maghreb Gang".
Düsseldorf (dok) – With the French films Montana and Khaled, Farid Bang released the new song "Maghreb Gang", produced by Juh-Dee. The video and the single have already been released on June 7th. Through this collaboration, Farid Bang has again mobilized leading international support.
The video, which is mainly shot in the Maghreb desert, is dotted with references to the origin of the participating musicians. Linguistically, "Maghreb gang" is international. Khaled sings folk in Algerian, French Montana in English and Farid Bang in German. Apart from that, musically, however, not much is going on except for a very flat and simple time and a very pronounced use of automatic tuning.
The title "Maghreb gang" should be taken literally because all participants are of North African descent. Farid Bang and French Montana have Moroccan roots and are old friends. Bang made an appearance in the Montana video "All The Way Up". The collaboration with superstar Cheb Khaled, the most famous representative of Algerian popular music and popular music Raï, is however a novelty.
This is not the first time that the Düsseldorf rapper, Farid Bang, is working with international guests. In November 2018, he released The Gang with the single "Nurmagomedow". In 2016, he made an appearance in the single "All The Way Up" of French Montana, in which DJ Khaled was involved.
