An American won the lottery a few months ago and invested his money in Bitcoin (BTC) in May. So, he could have made more than 70% of profits today.

The user of Reddit "Joxnlol" is currently in the r / Bitcoin subdirectory with its history. Viral: In April, he will win $ 500,000 in the state lottery of Illinois. But instead of spending his money like many other lucky ones, he invests half in the means of payment of the future: Bitcoin (BTC)!

Maybe more than 70% of profits so far

Joxnlol only announced that he had invested in BTC in May, but not what day and at what price. If he got it in early May, while the price of Bitcoin was still around $ 5,400, it would still be more than 70% today.

But if he did not invest until the end of the month, when the price had already risen to around $ 8,700, the value of his BTC would have risen by just over seven percent. Either way, the investment is currently in the green.

Lotto winner leaves Bitcoin (BTC) on Exchange

Joxnlol has announced the preservation of bitcoins for at least a year. In terms of future price developments, he remains relaxed: even if Bitcoin would fall below the dollar, he would still have more money than he spent on the lottery ticket. .

Some uncompromising Bitcoiners, however, criticized the winner of the lottery for two reasons: first, it would have been better not to make his case public, so as not to become the target of criminals. On the other hand, he should not continue to store his BTC code on the Robinhood Exchange application, but to transfer it into a secure wallet. Joxnlol, however, sees no need for action:

"I seriously, who the hell is it?" Honestly, if Robinhood was swimming on his stomach, any new person who joined Robinhood in Krypto would never want to be involved in cryptography, which is as bad as, if not worse, Robinhood use ".
