WABDR 04

The Washington Backcountry Discovery Route (WABDR) is a scenic route across the state of Washington from Oregon to Canada via the Cascade Mountain Range. The 600-mile route follows mostly unpaved backhauls, which can be driven by dual-sport and adventure motorcycles, or driven by 4x4s and high-end 4WD vehicles. The route is usually snow-free from July to September.

When Bryce Stevens and Andrew Cull won the 2010 Overland Flag Competition for their proposal to create a roadway across Washington State, they decided to make their vision a reality. In the spring of 2010, two northwestern motorcyclists began searching for and mapping a new road route across the state of Washington from Oregon to Canada for dual-sport adventure motorcycles and 4x4s.

By the end of August, the team included Tom Myers and Paul Guillien (Touratech-USA), Helge Pedersen (GlobeRiders) and Sterling Noren (Noren Films). The seven-day WABDR Overland Flag expedition was filmed with six motorcycles (BMW and KTM) and 4×4 support vehicles.
