Around 3,000 fans of the French team flooded the heart of the city tonight while the police flooded the area before the kick-off at 8pm in Old Trafford.
Dramatic video images showed fans who were crawling Exchange Square outside the famous Printworks building and drinking alcohol.
Dozens of flares were seen before the PSV collision between Man Utd and PSG was lit when the police fought to confiscate as many "pyros" as possible.

Officers were seen with bags full of torches – but many fans managed to sneak past the police with the objects.
Manchester Evening News reported that a PSG fan had to be treated by paramedics after he had injured himself with a capture.
He reportedly suffered a "serious hand injury", where his friend said "a firework went off while he held it".

Fans were later seen boarding trams to Old Trafford while the police implemented crowd control measures to prevent overpopulation.
Local radio station Hits Manchester News reported that PSG fans "made sure trams bounced" by jumping and singing while they felt their presence.
The station tweeted: "Large numbers of fans are trying to board @MCRMetrolink.

A clearance sale crowd of 75,000 was expected to match tonight – the first of two legs in the knockout game.

The police have been hard at work for the attack of PSG fans arriving in the city today – and it clashes tonight with a concert at the Manchester Arena.
The local population has been warned that public transportation tonight will be "much busier than normal".
