A huge manhunt in Texas extends on his fifth day Tuesday for two armed thieves who shot a mother in cold blood two people described by a family member as a "light in a dark world" who had just become engaged.

Donna Pena, 31, was shot in a holdup at a Shell gas station in the Houston area, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office. Pena began working at the gas station three days before her murder, his brother-in-law Kevin Hamilton told ABC News on Tuesday.

"Why? Just why? It was insane," Hamilton said. "They have to pay."

The Harris County Sheriff's Office released a surveillance video of the two thieves armed with firearms, both wearing a bandana on their face, and one dressed in a hoodie bearing the word "Navy" written on the front and on the back. His accomplice wore red sneakers with white stripes, the police said.

Investigators said the fatal blow came Friday night as Pena was working in the mini-market at the gas station, officials said.

In a horrible crime that took only 25 seconds, the two bandits broke out at the door around 22 hours. with pistols in hand and ruthlessly killed Pena before emptying the crate, said the authorities.

The sheriff's officials said the two men were responsible for five to ten armed robberies in the Houston area, including one in a Subway restaurant recently.

"Bringing these two men off the street is a top priority for us, and we owe it to Donna Pena, her family and all those who mourn her death, and the community we have vowed to protect." Deputy Chief Edison Toquica, of the Harris County Sheriff's Office said at a press conference.

Hamilton said Pena had previously worked for the Shell service station chain in the Houston area, but had left the job to go to the welding school. He said that Pena returned to work three days before her death.

"In fact, she was just starting a shift, it was not her usual store," Hamilton told ABC News.

He described his sister-in-law as "full of love" and is survived by a 4-year-old daughter and a 15-year-old son.

"She was there for everyone and she loved nature, she loved Texas and pretty much everything," said Hamilton. "She was a light in a dark world."

Hamilton said that Pena's boyfriend recently proposed marriage and that she agreed.

He said that Pena's son was upset by the death of his mother.

"He's trying to stay strong for everyone," Hamilton said. "It's just hitting her little girl, she thinks it's a dream and we're all going to wake up."
