As the number of countries where the population is placed in quarantine increases a little more every day, delivery companies are inundated with orders and forced to adapt. This is particularly the case of Amazon in France and Italy. In the United States, the company continues to deliver non-essential products, but with extended deadlines, and no longer stores them in its warehouses.
These changes are very bad news for the millions of online stores that rely entirely on Amazon to deliver their goods. An addiction that the company has aggressively encouraged for years.
The e-commerce giant has more than 2.5 million regularly active third-party sellers around the world. According to Jungle Scout, which analyzes the data produced by these sellers, 37% of them derive all of their income from Amazon.

Its Fullfilled by Amazon (FBA) program enables products to be sent to a warehouse, where the multinational then takes care of storage, packaging, delivery and any returns.
In addition to these services, paying to participate in the program makes it possible to be better referenced and to appear higher on the listing of a product. According to Jungle Scout, 64% of third-party sellers rely exclusively on FBA.
However, as warehouses no longer accept non-essential products, many companies that have outsourced their logistics to Amazon find themselves without a solution.
